Olympic Flag Banner

This year the olympics were in Canada and it was a lot of fun to watch. We wanted to support our country and a couple other countries we love :) So we made flags of USA, Ukraine and Russia (hmmm..not pictured?).
To make: I drew 3 of each flag (one for me and each of the girls.)
I colored mine and then let you guys use mine as your control of error.
I gave you each a red and blue marker when it was time to do the USA flag. Then we switched them for yellow and lt. blue when it was time to do the Ukraine flag, etc.

Marshmallow Bridge

We had just watched an episode of Curious George where he uses toothpicks, marshmallows and playing cards to create a bridge for some wandering chicks to make it across the river to their mother.
So we decided to do the same. C had fun poking lots of toothpick into the marshmallows

And M had fun making a snake and a little raft for her piggy.
And they both loved eating them:)

The Mr. and Mrs.

I made these little cuties for the girls to play with during sacrament mtg. at church. They are made from felt, velcro, and stuffing. The man has a mustache to go with his decor too :)

Valentines Day 2010

These hershey kisses (rice crispie treats) were made using a simple funnel. Then we wrapped them in tin foil and left a fun note as the little tag.

Counting on a Stick

Playdough, sticks (I used pick-up-sticks), sticky hearts labled 1-3, 6 cheerios.
Place the correct amount of cheerios on the stick.

M preferred to make a dinosaur and a tree :)
And C did it with mommy. She didn't count, just placed them on the sticks.

Texture Matching

Mia helped me make texture matching cards. We found lots of simple items around the house and used the glue gun (other glue would work fine) to adhere them to paint samples from Lowe's. We made two of each texture on the same color of paint sample paper. We used these to make a file folder game focused on matching.
What we used: lentils, oatmeal, pennies, straws, spaghetti, Velcro, stick on jewels, pipe cleaner, and ditalini pasta
